An excavated coffin-like box made of white stone.
In Japan Buddhists started to put precious things such as Buddhist Sutra in a container made of bronze, fired clay, stone and so on, and buried in the ground at the end of Heian period.
The oldest archaeological evidence is a gilt bronze Sutra container engraved the name of an era dated 1007.
Though the year of creation unknown, this box is considered as one of those containers. It has an atmosphere of solemn mystery.
